Bio

Diane Marie Uwase (RW, 1993) is a self-taught artist who lives and works in Antwerp(BE). Her narrative prowess thrives in allegorical portraiture, capturing diverse individuals in nuanced states. Since initiating her artistic journey in 2020, Uwase's work delves into these intimate moments, presenting viewers with captivating spaces for contemplation and conjecture.

Uwase’s recent exhibitions include group shows such as Balancing Acts at Netwerk Aalst (Aalst, BE), The Gift at Duende Art Projects (Antwerp, BE), and Invisible Walls at Pedrami Gallery (Antwerp, BE).

​

She made her international art fair debut in late 2024 with Duende Art Projects at AKAA Art Fair (Paris, FR), followed by her Belgian debut at Art Antwerp (Antwerp, BE).

​

Looking ahead to 2025, Uwase is preparing for her debut solo exhibition, her participation in Art Brussels with Pedrami Gallery, and an outdoor installation for Sint-Denijs City.

Her work is part of private collections across Europe.
